Les informations commencent à se dévoiler autour de la nouvelle série de Saint Seiya (Les Chevaliers du Zodiaque) qui verra le jour en avril prochain au Japon : Saint Seiya Omega.

Aujourd'hui, c'est la filiale Tôei Animation Europe qui relaie un communiqué annonçant officiellement l'arrivée du "Projet Masami Kurumada". Ce dernier comprend la série Saint Seiya Omega, mais aussi le long métrage en 3D-CGI réalisé par Keiichi Satô .
Dans ce communiqué, on apprend notamment que le producteur de Saint Seiya Omega est Goh Wakabayashi. Ce dernier fut justement responsable des ventes (sales manager) chez Tôei Animation Europe de 2005 à 2009. Ayant vécu plusieurs années en France, il a probablement pris conscience de l'aura de Saint Seiya au-delà des frontières du Japon. Voici d'ailleurs ce qu'il déclare : « Depuis 25 ans, Saint Seiya a su conquérir le cœur des enfants à travers le monde et nous sommes aujourd’hui très fiers de poursuivre la série avec ce nouveau chapitre passionnant. Nos talentueuses équipes de scénaristes et d'animateurs ont de nouveau réussi à concevoir un magnifique univers qui, nous l’espérons, deviendra à son tour incontournable pour les 25 prochaines années à venir et plus encore. »

Notons au passage que Goh Wakabayashi a aussi produit, en décembre dernier, la petite OAV de Dragon Ball - Episode of Bardock.

En attendant, toutes ces annonces montrent, une fois encore, l'intérêt que suscite la licence Saint Seiya de nos jours. Il est encore trop tôt pour savoir si la série arrivera en France, mais parions que le MIPTV (marché des droits), qui se tiendra en avril prochain à Cannes, devrait lancer le débuts des négociations.
